Best avoided. Chlorine and salt water are unkind to plating and settings, and soap leaves a film even gold can't shake off. If it happens, rinse in fresh water and dry it fully before it goes back in its pouch.
Alone, in its own soft pouch, away from direct sunlight and other jewellery. Pieces sharing a drawer scratch each other quietly over time — separation is the simplest form of care.
A soft cloth and, if needed, lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap. Nothing acidic, no ultrasonic cleaners, no abrasive polishing cloths. Pat it dry — never rub a stone dry.
Skin chemistry, humidity and time all play a part, especially with plated pieces. A little warmth in tone is normal wear, not damage — a gentle polish usually brings it back.
